Aparna is a versatile HR leader with seventeen plus years of diverse industry experience. She has handled leadership roles deep diving into areas like: Strategic HR business partnerships, critical post-merger integration initiatives, Talent management, Leadership Development, start-up HR, Compensation and Benefits, Diversity &Inclusion, Recruitment & Staffing, Employee Relations etc. The stints in large and medium sized firms have entailed in depth exposure to best in class Global and Local practices .It has further given her an opportunity to set up teams, work in cross border teams, coach & mentor leaders and in the process evolve as a leader herself. Aparna was heading HR in 2 organizations in the past- Reliance Money and Gridstone Research (a Silicon Valley startup).She is currently heading the Talent Development Centre of Excellence at MSD Pharmaceuticals Limited(called Merck &Co in US&Canada) where she was responsible to start all development and engagement initiatives like a greenfield venture after 2 global mergers. She has also worked here as part of Global Talent Development team on projects and initiatives that cover all regions of the world. Prior to that she has donned multiple hats at MSD managing generalist HR, Compensation and Benefits, HR compliance, post-merger integration lead etc.
Aparna was honored with the 'Woman Super achiever of the Year 2012' (World HRD Congress and www.Employerbranding.com) and also the Pride of Maharashtra Award for Leadership, 2017 thru CMO Asia(http://www.cmoasia.org/)& endorsed by World Federation of Marketing Professionals & World Sustainability(http://worldmarketingcongress.org/). She was on the advisory board of the World HRD congress,2015.Due to her pioneering efforts around diversity &inclusion MSD was conferred the WILL Best Employer for Women Award 2014,2015 & 2016, Best Employer for Women thru Working Mother Magazine, USA and AVATAR Group, India 2017 and OPPI award for Diversity and Inclusion, 2017. She also successfully launched and runs the network for women and millennials in her company. Aparna is invited as a speaker at external conferences and management institutes. She spoke about running a successful Women's Network at the Diversity Asia conference 2014, Hong Kong.She has co - led the launch of a public Global Mentoring program for women in India (2018) called - THRIVE.
Aparna has done her Masters in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations from Tata Institute of Social Sciences & MA in English Literature. In her spare time she likes to write, read and travel.
