Bedelia is a HR professional with 18 years' experience in a generalist and specialist capacity. She have gained credibility as a strategic business partner and have operated on board and executive level. Bedelia believe that HR forms integrally part of the business agenda and shaping the future of the organization. Her key strengths are organizational development, strategic development & planning, talent management as well as change management. Bedelia believes in life long learning and holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Science, Honours in Psychology, Honours in Industrial Psychology, Masters in Industrial Psychology and working towards achieving a PHD. Bedelia has gained most of her experience by playing in the Financial services field for almost 16 years. The organisations that Bedelia shaped and had a significant impact in includes Absa, Nedbank, Standard Bank and PwC. Bedelia recently joined IBM as the Country HR Executive.
Bedelia recently joined IBM as the Country HR Executive. Her core role enables IBM to leverage its intellectual capital through the attraction, retention and development of talent. She is also responsible for the transformation portfolio within IBM. Before joining IBM she worked at PwC as the Human Capital Head for Advisory Africa. She was responsible for the integration of the Africa agenda. Prior to that Bedelia worked at Absa in various positions. Before that she was responsible for the alignment of strategic human resources initiatives at Nedbank Retail. Prior to that Theunissen was at Absa in various roles before heading the centre of excellence division in Stanbic Africa. There her major areas of responsibilities included organisational development, learning and development as well as talent management. Theunissen started her career at the University of Johannesburg as an administrator and later as a junior lecturer. She believes that self-development is the key to success and holds a BA (social sciences), honours in psychology and an MA in industrial psychology, and is currently completing a PhD in leadership.
