Chowdhury Abd-Allah Quaseed has about 19 yrs work experience in different capacities and departments in many companies and also has training & consulting experience as well. The sectors in which his work experience are, include : Food, Clothing and Apparel manufacturing and export, Shipping, Banking, Telecom, UN, Television, Print Media, United Nations & the development sector. He has held a divisional head position or Director range designation, reporting to the company owners, for about 11 years now from a rather young age of only 31, having risen very swiftly across the organizational ladders, with most of his work roles being focused on Human Resource Management and Organizational Development. He has enormous contributions in helping to bring HR Management and OD to the forefront of the corporate sector of Bangladesh as strategic business functions and demonstrating how full organizations can be led, managed and spearheaded into massive growth through effective and strategic management of HR functions. It is these contributions of his, which makes him deserving of the title of a "HR Business Leader". He has also received in 2017 the prestigious "100 Most Influential HR Professionals Globally" award from the World HR Congress and also "Award for Leadership and Human Capacity Development" from Citizens Open Forum of Bangladesh, and also award for "Making a Dream Company to Work For through HR" from Asian Employer Brand Awards in 2017 as well.
He is also the Founder Chairperson and President of BUILD Bangladesh Foundation, which is an organization that aims to help communicate and implement good idea of the general people to the government level decision and policy makers and are currently working to promote CSR and various other people and youth development initiatives. He is also an Advisor to Bangladesh Apparel Professionals' Society.
He is currently the Director of Gweebarra Food and Bakery Industry and Coopers Bakery Chain, the very dominant market leader in the food and bakery industry of Bangladesh leading the entire operations of the company through HR methodology and using performance management techniques based on the Balance Score Card method. Prior to this role, for 7 years, he worked as Director-HR, Compliance, Welfare & Admin of Ananta Group, one of the largest RMG companies in Bangladesh, which during his tenure were employing 25000 people with annual revenue of over USD300million. He played a pivotal role in helping the company grow from 7000 people to this level and from having 3 factories to 11, during his work time. He also developed a comprehensive policy manual which was used as an example by GAP Inc., and also IFC India for companies they invested in, across India. He also played a major role in establishing and promoting the PACE training program of GAP across Ananta and other companies in Bangladesh. He effectively managed a tam of 300 staff across all factories to achieve all this. He headed the HR & OD in Techvalley Networks Group as General Manager (the BD distributors of SUN Microsystems and CISCO), for 2 years where he was also GM Sun Microsystems Division, specially leading the sales team. He was also the Head of HR& MIS at KDS Accessories of KDS Group (2007-8), and was their OD Consultant too prior to that.
Quaseed has also been a Corporate Trainer &consultant for Grameenphone, FAO of UN ( for their Dhaka as well as Nepal office having trained their country head and all project heads multiple times), Care, Arla Foods (DANO), General Pharmaceuticals, DHL, Novotel, GPIT, Avery Denison, Paxar Netherlands Embassy, BRAC Bank, Kuhne Nagal, Channel I, Faisal Investments & many more. He did mixed batch training for BanglaLink Telecom, Square Pharma, Eserve Group etc. He has had over 5000 hours of training experience. He was also called in to facilitate sessions for GAP Inc., at their global PACE conference in Indonesia in 2013 and also in China in March 2016 and for the Danish company Bestseller in 3 of their vendor conferences.
He was also Manager Business Development & Sales at BRAC Bank (2002). He worked in HSBC from Sep1999, winning multiple awards for performance & sales and designed the SOPs of the Bank to assist the ISO certification process in 2001. He also worked in Sea-Consortium, Singapore (1998), the largest feeder vessel operator as a Management Trainee. As a Student of NSU, and as a Founder VP of AIESEC, he was also involved in various people development activities of AIESEC members.
He also worked as a Senior Consultant for Seba Consultants and completed many projects for Danida, GIZ through them. He also rendered consultancy services for Future Leaders Group, IITM, BSDI, Jobs BD, and CIDA as well. He anchored & helped produce several TV programs, (Agamir Kontho, Agamir Bhabna, Speling Bee, Project Laser Beam, Vocab) in several TV channels and his program Agamir Kontho had over 120 episodes and had earned immense viewership among Bangladeshis residing abroad.
He has been a guest lecturer at the MBA classes of IBA & several private universities including NSU, MIU, EWU, AIUB, South East university etc. , and has delivered numerous presentations at national career fairs several times and also recently at the 15th HR Adda organized by Renaissance HR Consultants. He has also anchored and hosted many national level programs and ceremonies such as The 2017 Khadi Festival by Bangladesh Fashion Development Council and the 10th American Alumni Association Awards.
Quaseed has been a World Public Speaking Semi Finalist and world debater, having outperformed over 300 teams across 3 World Universities Debating Championships in Ireland, South Africa & Philippines between 1995-99. He has over 100 articles published in the The Bangladesh Post, The Dhaka Tribune, The Daily Star, New Age, Independent, Apparel Online etc and has been in a leading position in many social organizations such as IBFB, JCI Bangladesh (where he was a Director), Young Entrepreneurs Society of NSU (as Founder Secretary General) & AIESEC Bangladesh (as Founder VP External Relations). He was also President of NSU Debate Club and of Universities Debating Council. He has trained the debaters of not only NSU, but also IBA and various other universities and schools, and has been an adjudicator in numerous debate competitions within Bangladesh and in South Africa. He has also represented AIESEC Bangladesh internationally a couple of times and played a lead role in organizing the Millennium Conference in 1999, and the biggest national debating festival till then, also the same year through UDC. He was a student of 1994 batch of NSU, and graduated among the top 5th percentile of his class in 1999 with a Major in Finance and HR.
