Dr. Mahboob Sooltan Sohawon

Mahboob Sooltan SOHAWON is senior lecturer at the Mauritius Institute of Education - MIE - and Head of the Educational Administration and Management Department. Prior to joining the MIE, he has been a teacher, educator, Head of English Department and Acting Rector. He holds a PhD in Education with specialisation in Leadership and Management and is a Professor - from the European-American University. He has been lecturing for Mancosa, Doha Academy of Tertiary Studies, Riffah University, University of Technology - Mauritius, Middlesex University – Mauritius Branch Campus and Open University of Mauritius for BA/ Bed and MA, Med - Leadership and Management. He has been involved in the supervision of PhD dissertations for both local and international students. He has written many course handbooks on leadership and management for different tertiary institutions. He is the author of a chapter for a book on management and leadership for Zambia University published in 2019. He has written many articles and involved in peer reviewing and participated in and ran and chaired many conferences/workshops/seminars both at local, national and international levels. In 2016, he was invited as consultant by UNESCO and worked on a Policy Paper on School Leaders for 2030. He is a member of the International Leadership Association (ILA) and in 2011 was the winner of the Leadership book from the keynote listening event -International Leadership Association (ILA) Global Conference and is a member of Association of Leadership Educators - ALE. He has been directly involved in the setting up of a Leadership Institute in the Republic of Benin for the Western African Countries. In 2019, he won the World Championship Awards and Achievement 2019 in Educational Research (Leadership). He is actually working on a book entitled – Managing Relationships in Organisations.
