Dumidu is one of the well-known resources in the field of Organizational Excellence & Lean Six Sigma and Business Excellence the region and has been personally endorsed by the principal architect of Six Sigma Dr Mikel J. Harry as one of the best resources available on Six Sigma in the world. He is a frequently featured speaker ininternational and local forums and the first individual outside the USA to be awarded the 'Lean Six Sigma Executive Master Black Belt (EMBB)' status by Dr Mikel J. Harry. Dumidu has guided over 100+ plus organizations, both manufacturing and services in 10 countries in their business process excellence journey and known for his avid skills in Lean Six Sigma deployment and developing the next generation of leaders. During the 19+ span of his career, he has mentored over 500 process excellence projects across multiple domains and trained over 10,000 resources (including Master Black Belts and 250+ Black Belts). Dumidu is also part of the Visiting Faculty at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) – HR House Sri Lanka for the past 12 years and several other Leading Universities. He also holds positions and memberships of many leading associations relating to his field.

Dumidu was also the recipient of IT-BPO Young Outstanding Professional Sri Lanka Award during the first-ever IT-BPO award ceremony organized by ICTA in the year 2007, and he was also awarded the 'Lean Six Sigma Coaching Excellence Medal' by Six Sigma Management Institute, USA in 2013 for his contributions under the Wings for Heroes programme training US Army veterans on Lean Six Sigma. Dumidu was also recognized by International Confederation for NGOs in association with United Nations for his outstanding contribution towards promoting Lean Six Sigma in the region by awarding him REX Karmaveer Chakra Bronze & Silver Medals during years 2017& 2019 respectively. In 2019, Dumidu was named the 'Business Leader of the Year – Organizational Excellence & Lean Six Sigma 'at the Asia Business Leaders Awards 2019, 'Business Leader of the Year Award' at the Sri Lanka Quality Leadership Awards in years 2017 & 2019 and 'Hall of Fame Award' at Asia Training and Development Excellence Awards in 2019 &'Hall of Fame Award' at the Sri Lanka Training & Development Awards 2017.

Apart from EMBB certification, Dumidu also holds three Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certifications from BMG University, Indian Statistical Institute & Dialog Axiata, Black Belt certifications from ASQ & Motorola University and Lean Practitioner certification from BMGI. His other credentials include, MBA (USJ-PIM), BBA (Colombo), Diploma in Quality Management (SLSI),National Diploma in HRM (CIPM), ASQ CQE, ASQ CMQ/OE, ASQ CQA, Sri Lanka's 1st IASSC Accredited Training Associate, Lean Bronze, Lead Auditor ISO 9001 QMS, ISO 14001 EMS & ISO 27001 ISMS, Certified TPM Facilitator (CII, JIPM, TPM Club), PMP, PGDM (CIM-UK), ACMA (CIMA-UK), FCMA (CMA-SL), Senior member ASQ and HMM (Harvard).
