Haikal Maarof Zainol Akmar

Haikal has broad based HR management experience including leadership positions within several conglomerate with multi-industry such as Tesco, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Hong Leong Group, Pan Pacific Hotels Group and currently with UOA Hospitality Group. At present, Haikal serves as Corporate Director of Human Resources for UOA Hospitality Group.

Haikal has led various functions in Human Resources and responsible for HR strategy, workforce planning, succession planning, recruitment, organization design and change management. Notable accomplishment include the setting up of National Sales Team for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia. Haikal has also led the change effort through restructuring exercise, addressing talent shortage across business unit through community outreach programme with the Penan community in Borneo through partnership with “Helping Hands Penans” an NGO in Borneo. Other achievements include developing a Leadership Capability for the Hotels Leadership team under GuocoLand Malaysia and UOA Hospitality Group.

Haikal often participates as a Subject Matter Expert in HR panel discussions and speaks at conferences at regional and international level.
