Biography

Ian Tan is the Director and Chief Enabling Officer of Lifeskills Institute. Since 1996, two dynamic educational and training consultancy firms that help to transform individuals, teams and organisations by providing human capital solutions and assessment tools to unlock the potential in people. Over the past 21 years, more than 250,000 people have benefited through the certification, training, consulting and coaching services.

Ian is a Master Accreditor of the DISC Personality System™ and PeopleKeys™ System, and Master Behavioural Consultant for The Institute of Motivational Living, Inc. (USA) in Singapore and Asia. He has accredited over 1000 Certified Behavioural Consultants from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Australia in the use of personality, learning and motivational profiling tools.

Ian Tan is a highly sought-after trainer, speaker, learning facilitator and consultant in the field of personal development and talent management. He has shown strong leadership in area of strategic talent management, human resource management and organisational development. His foresight and visionary outlook drove him to collaborate with renowned authors, publishers and organisations to introduce powerful tools such as profiling assessments, talent management and recruitment system, and other training materials which bring about a significant impact to organization performance and human capital development.

He works with world renowned experts in the fields of leadership development, talent management, profiling assessments and training tools. They include Dr. Sandy Kulkin of PeopleKeys Inc, USA, Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner of The Leadership Challenge, USA and, Jack Zenger and Joe Folkman of Zenger Folkman, to name a few.

Ian holds a degree in Social Science and Applied Psychology from University of Western Sydney and Master of Guidance and Counselling from James Cook University. He also holds a Professional Diploma in Training and Development from Singapore Training and Development Association (STADA). He is a Certified Facilitator for The Leadership Challenge, as well as Certified Facilitator for award-winning program, The Extraordinary Leader. Being a certified coach recognised by ICF and currently pursuing his second coaching certification that is accredited by the Canadian Council of Professional Certification (CCPC), he has coached many executives and senior management from the education field as well as the multi-national corporations.

Ian’s passion to develop potential in others has seen him delivered workshops and seminars for clients over the past 20 years that include educators, senior managers, counsellors, trainers, civil servants and youths of local and regional organizations.
