Biography

Sumit Sabharwal is the CEO of TeamLeaseHRtech Ltd, a part of TeamLeaseGroup, one of India's largest providers of a wide range of HR technology products and platforms to 3500+ organisations for their HCM, talent acquisition, regulatory compliances, functions, enhancing employee engagement and experience. In his current role, he is responsible for spearheading the organisation's business growth, P&L - topline, profitability, cash flows, sustainability, scalability, digital innovation, and strategy - planning - execution.

Sumit's more than two-decade-long career trajectory is just as illustrious as his academic journey. He has led several multi-billion-dollar global and Indian corporate organisations in the capacity of their Managing Director and CEO, including Excelity Global and OCS Group UK. He has spearheaded senior leadership teams in multiple globally distinguished conglomerates, including Godrej Group, HDFC Bank, Essar Group, and Equifax. In January 2022, he commenced his latest leadership stint as the CEO of TeamLeaseHRtech Ltd.

An engineer and an MBA by academic qualification, Sumit studied International Business at Institutd'étudespolitiques de Paris, France, and a course in Management BFSI Finance Sales from IIM Kozhikode. He is alsoa PhD scholar in Management from NMIMS and has undertaken an organisational leadership program at the acclaimed Harvard Business School. He has been awarded anhonourary PhD from an international university in South Korea.

A visionary, a people person and an innovation-focused leader, Sumit envisions TeamLease HR Tech as the largest HCM company in Asia a few years down the line.

A sports and fitness enthusiast, Sumit enjoys playing golf and basketball and firmly believes that golf teaches the importance of timing, discipline and that basketball teaches teamwork. He plays basketball at least once a week while golfing is a monthly affair. An avid reader, some of Sumit's favourite books are The Bhagavad Gita, Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, and Good to Great by Jim Collins. He is also a philanthropist by nature and is associated with the International Association of Human Values.
