Biography
Palesa Queen P. Mphafi is a rising talent in South Africa’s arts and culture sector, recognized for her contributions in public speaking, debating, poetry, and acting. Born in Ikhutseng, Warrenton, she launched her professional acting career during the 2020 lockdown with the sitcom "Welcome to Warrasburg," earning a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Northern Cape Awards.
In 2021, Palesa joined the Northern Cape Theatre and founded DRAMA QUEENS in 2022 to empower young women in theatre and show business. She wrote her first female-centric production, "WOMANDLA," which premiered at the National Arts Festival in 2023 and 2024, receiving acclaim for its narrative and performances.
Additionally, Palesa produced a film trailer titled "DRAMA QUEENS," further showcasing women’s stories in the arts. In 2024, she received the 11th World Women Leadership Congress Award, recognizing her contributions and advocacy for women's empowerment. As President of DRAMA QUEENS, she continues to create inclusive opportunities for young women in the arts, making her a significant and vibrant force in the industry.
