Michelle Loong is an individual that is passionate about talent from all cultures and all walks of life. She looks at talent from a holistic approach – talent attraction, talent development, talent growth and succession planning. By nature, she is fond of most people and usually always finds something good and likeable about every person she meets.
She has a gift of befriending just about anyone. Many that know her will probably recall that she was the first person to welcome them with open arms, an open heart or an open mind. Her open-hearted nature compels her to reach out and draw into her life many different kinds of people. She expects excellence from herself and others. Being average at best and mediocre at worst is unacceptable to her.
She is currently with Richemont looking after talent acquisition and development for Hong Kong and Macau. Before Richemont she was with Dagong Global Credit Rating as its global head of human resources and Johnson Electric as its director of strategic global talent acquisition.
From 2010 to 2015, she was the vice-president of global talent acquisition for Asia Pacific with MSCI and before that spent 10 years with various top international global search firms in Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Hong Kong. During her time in Shanghai from 2003 to 2007, she served as a committee member on the Malaysian Association People’s Republic of China and as the public relations director for the Malaysian Chambers of Commerce in Shanghai.
In her spare time, she enjoys good food, good wine, hiking and travelling. She spent her childhood years in Malaysia and her university years in London where she earned her bachelor’s degree in information management from University College London and her master’s in human resource management from Middlesex University Business School. She speaks fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.
